Andrea Valerie is a Sydney-based makeup and special effects artist with a passion for transforming imagination into tangible form. Specialising in SFX application and prosthetics, she brings characters to life through hand-made custom prosthetics, appliance application and airbrushing.
Alongside completing an Advanced Diploma in SFX at ACMUSE in 2024 she also trained alongside leading Australian effects studios, including Odd Studio and The Makeup Effects Group, gaining hands-on experience in detailed sculpting, moulding, life-casting, sculpting, silicone running and prosthetic painting whilst working in a collaborative team environment.
Her artistry extends beyond the screen through her brand Oddities by Andrea Valerie - a collection of handcrafted wearable art that merge beauty, anatomy and the surreal.
Andrea currently works as a makeup artist at Kryolan Australia, creating everything from glam, drag and character transformations to tattoo and vitiligo cover-ups, and specialised skincare consultations. This role allows her to combine product knowledge, colour theory and technical artistry while connecting with a diverse range of clients and creatives.
Andrea’s work bridges fine art and technical precision, with a deep appreciation for texture, form and storytelling. She continues to explore the boundaries of materials and transformation, with aspirations to expand her craft in world-class prosthetics and creature fabrication studios.
